Ikigai Global Industries Announces Next-Generation Grid Storage Technology Capable of Powering Cities for Days
OSAKA, JAPAN — Ikigai Energy Systems, a division of Ikigai Global Industries, today unveiled the KAMI cell, a grid-scale energy storage architecture capable of powering a city of two million residents for eleven consecutive days without external input.

The KAMI cell was developed over nine years at the division's residential research campus outside Osaka, where project staff live, dine, and train on site. Dr. Shiozaki credited the breakthrough to what he described as "the elimination of interruption," a development methodology in which research teams remain within the campus perimeter for the full duration of a project cycle.
"Great work does not survive contact with the outside world," Dr. Shiozaki said. "We simply gave our researchers what they truly wanted: the freedom to never stop."
Commercial deployments begin next year across three continents. Municipal partners will be announced in due course; several, the company noted, approached Ikigai unsolicited after regional blackouts elsewhere.
